The "digital divide" and "participation gap" concept, does not have sufficient evidence to support its theory

There is certainly a "participation gap", but Guidry needs more evidence.

According to Kevin Guidry, those who are black or Hispanic, underemployed or uneducated, do not have Internet access. Yet, he says that 65% of college students in 994 institutions, have a computer with Internet access. I don't know about all college students, but most of them are under employed  and all of them are being  educated. I cannot base this theory on one study that was done with one group of people.

The PEW research center  really knows how to do its homework.

Unlike Guidry, the PEW research center, completed a study and published its results, explaining that minorities like black and Hispanics, have greater issues with their mobile phone because it is their main source of Internet. This research, really helped me understand, that there is a "participation gap", and that it is expanding. With the technology increasing its usefuleness, and price at the same time, more people are letting go of their home computers, and home phones. If this does continue, Hispanics and blacks, will not have an easy access to Internet as before, because they wont be able to afford it. therefore, creating a bigger participation gap as the PEW research center has explained.
